Farm Experience Overview
Living and working with these majestic animals has become a form of therapy.
As of Spring 2026 we are offering for you to join us and experience the calming and soothing effects our animals can share with you. We supply brushes and some of their favourite snacks for you to feed them. Get up close and personal and take photos to create lasting memories.
What To Expect During The Year
See the animals with their beautiful winter coats, whilst it’s cold for us outside it’s their most absolute favourite weather.
In Summer, Scottish Highlands shed their winter coats. It’s a time they naturally keep themselves cool and seek shade we provide them with.
The Valais Blacknose Sheep are shorn twice a year, usually in November & May.
Babies
We keep calves with their mothers until weined at 6 months.
For the Valais, they are with their mothers until 12-16 weeks and then we train them to join you and I in the paddock. If you’re lucky, you may even experience a birth.
Wellbeing and Rest
The animals do get tired and it’s really important they are rested, so we like to keep direct human interaction with them to 45 minutes.
At Loveford we have a shared yarded area and a picnic pod for weather protection that you may use if you choose to BYO Picnic, have a sit and dine with the Highlands & Valais close by for an additional 45 minutes, taking your visit to one and a half hours.
